It’s a throwback to hip-hop culture, back in the day, to parties and jams. Behind the decks, DJs will challenge dancers with a musical mix ranging from commercial records to deep funk, garage, pop, dancehall, rock, rap and old school classics. The songs encourage dancers to develop their technique, freestyle abilities, individuality, theatricality and prowess to the fullest.
Instead of winning a panel of judges, qualifiers from around the world compete for the public vote. The crowd determines the 2022 Red Bull Dance Your Style World Champion, who truly rules the dance floor.
Already, 27 dancers have secured a place in their respective country’s national finals throughout 2021. But for the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final 2022, an additional group of street dancers still have the chance to wow their audiences. local and join the action.
Over 4.3 million viewers watched the live streams in previous years and over 4,000 fans attended.

One dancer in particular who is eager to represent her country is the 2021 winner of the South African National Final, Shanny J.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to represent South Africa in our home country at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals.
In December, Shanny J will finally take the stage with her fusion of waacking and voguing and proudly showcasing the distinct South African dance styles she also possesses.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to represent South Africa in our home country at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in December,” she said. “Winning the national final was an absolute dream and having the chance to compete against the best dancers in the world in my home town is a challenge I am passionate about and training hard for.”
