DaBaby is in the news again for an incident that isn’t really about his music. The “Kirk” rapper has been charged with a felony battery charge for an alleged attack while filming his music video.
A man claims he caught a fade in late 2021 in Los Angeles when he tried to stop a video shoot from happening on his property. Wasn’t he getting a pair of something?
TMZ reports:
The rapper has been charged with aggravated assault by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office…for an incident that happened in early December last year…which allegedly left a guy, Gary Pagar, seriously injured.
There is another man by the name of Thankgod Awute who is also accused. Prosecutors claim he was DaBaby’s cohort in crime…they hit him with robbery.
Pagar filed a lawsuit in February, claiming he was attacked for enforcing the basic rules of renting property in his home.
The guy felt DaBaby and his crew were just going to kick him. However, the video shoot meant more people, and he wasn’t trying to get it. And that’s where his fight got off to a good start.
During their week-long stay…Pagar says he realized there were way more than 12 people at the property at one point and complained to DaBaby’s team…s assuring, wrongly, that they would not be there for long.
Finally, on December 2, he says he visited himself and realized that they were shooting a music video there with a whole film crew and a ton of other people around – over 40, he says – and Pagar tried to shut it all down. thing by talking to DaBaby.
It was then that he claimed to have been attacked by a member of the DB team, part of which was filmed. He says DB ordered the guy to leave Pagar but then allegedly punched him in the face, knocking out a tooth…this, according to the lawsuit.
Given DaBaby’s matching incidents, Pagar welcomed the L the moment he agreed to rent the crib. Just say.
