Tiffany Haddish to star in hip-hop dance-drama “Throw It Back”


Tiffany Haddish’s career continues to blossom with the announcement of yet another new movie she’s starring in!

Tiffany Haddish and young star Shahadi Wright Joseph are set to star in a new dance musical called Throw It Back.

Haddish will be number two to Wright Joseph, a starlet from Brooklyn, who killed the game with films like “Us”, “The Lion King” and “Them”.

And this will be the first film where Joseph takes the lead.

The story is about a shy high school student named Wytrell who explodes after a big Miami rap star arrives and offers the school dance team a spot in his new music video.

The trip to reach the top is crazy as she has to push dance battle after dance battle to earn her place.

According to Deadline, the soundtrack will feature songs from Southern Hip-Hop and classic black college bands playing iconic songs.

The Hollywood trade publication is also reporting that Shadae Lamar Smith, who had a career as a music video director for, will be directing the film.

It will be her directorial debut. It is also his debut as a screenwriter. She wrote the film with Rochée Jeffrey, a 2021 Independent Screenwriting Fellow.

Shahadi Wright Joseph was born a star and possibly born for this role. Both parents of this Forbes 30 and under are dance teachers.

She and her sister Sundari have been practicing dance (African, hip-hop, contemporary, ballet) since they learned to walk. Her sister has just been accepted into the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and will begin in the fall of 2021.
